Politics: Gas Prices

I wonder if this is the direction we should continue to take. Is finding more fossil fuel really going to solve anything in the long term? I like that the speaker is willing to ruffle some feathers but I think it’s more conceptual, not applicable.

    Since the oil companies will only sell the gas on the world market, we will have very little benifit.

    I think we need to do everything we can, research and develop alternative fuels and drill for more oil and see what we can do with the massive deposits of shale oil we have. If they had allowed off shore drilling a couple decades ago things wouldn’t be as bad now.
