Casual: Purchased “Power Grid”

It's all about turning that nob

Socializing over a game is my favorite form of entertainment. So I’m very excited about this new board game I just bought! I’ve already had a chance to play it once but that really only helped hurdle the learning curve for next time. I want to personally give a shout-out to my favorite game makers, Rio Grande Games, for creating such amazingly complex games like Power Grid and Puerto Rico. And thank you for ushering in an era of death to the dice.

It’s so refreshing to buy a new game and learn some completely new strategy concepts. Power Grid relies heavily on bidding, which I haven’t done for awhile. Maybe it’s time to figure out those psychological patterns people follow when bidding. Regardless, I love the thrill of winning a competition with a superior strategy (that, and a little bit of luck).
